Highland Wedding Car Hire is a local company operating from the Inverness area but covering much of the Highland Region, Inverness, Moray, Aberdeenshire and some areas of the Western Isles.
The most popular of all cars today for any bride is a car of quality and history and with a style of elegance and sophistication to match and compliment the bride herself. The principal car used by Highland Wedding car is the delightful 1953 Bentley affectionately known as "Beatrice." This car in fact is only one of 80-cars ever built of that design and so is considered very rare. She is something of celebrity herself and has appeared in many episodes of the BBC TV drama "Monarch of the Glen" where she was driven as the personal transport of Lord Kilwillie played by Julian Fellowes who went on to write the hugely successful TV series "Downton Abbey."
The Bentley has been in the same ownership for the last 24 - years and is given the love and attention that she deserves to preserve such a rare and classic motorcar. The car is one of only a few remaining R-Types that were hand built by H.J. Mulliner of that particular sports body design and she remains in immaculate condition in gleaming black over claret paintwork with an interior of walnut woodwork and sumptuous tan leather. The current owner has the history and details of the life of the car from her first owner Mr Oliver Berger of Louis Berger Paints throughout the last 60-years of her life.
This year saw Beatrice compete at the Bentley National Concours Event near Oxford where against some very stiff competition she won the best in the Coach built Class by winning the John Ayer’s Silver Tray. A great result after a long drive from Scotland.
Having found a new career late in life she went on to win the best Bentley at the Glamis Castle Event again in the Concours de Elegance Class.

Every wedding is different depending on the distance between the Bride’s collection points, the Church, the venue for the wedding reception and also the time required for photographs either at the church or to a special local beauty spot. It is therefore important at the outset to provide before booking the day the expected timings of these events.
Yes we do encourage the prospective bride and groom to view the car which is garaged near to Inverness.
To reserve the Booking formally it requires a 50% deposit with the balance with one month of the wedding day itself.
Our Terms and Conditions are here to help you. We want you to feel comfortable with the service that we offer. In making a payment of the required deposit to secure the car for your wedding day you are accepting the Terms and Conditions of the hire and agree to be bound by them.
A deposit of 50% is required at the time of the booking – this reserves the wedding date. The remaining balance is required 6-weeks before the wedding day itself. This can be paid by cheque, cash or bank transfer. The initial deposit is non-refundable through cancellation or non-payment of the outstanding balance.
The booking price is based upon the agreed arrangements with yourself which is established from the route, mileage, journey times and any extra requirements you may have. Any further changes to the route, pick-up points may need to be recalculated and charged as an extra where deemed necessary.
We will have the right to refuse entry to the vehicle should the person or persons appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This also applies where the person is offensive or abusive in their behaviour. Any claim for compensation given these circumstances will not be accepted. We are not responsible for any personal belongings of any passenger.
Due to the age of the car there is no seat belt-belts provided and passengers travel at their own risk. Children under the age of three years cannot be carried because of this, but children over that age can be carried but must be under adult supervision. The car will not carry more than the legally specified number of occupants including the driver. Neither will pets be permitted to travel in the car other than a guide dog which must be approved at the time of the booking.
The hirer should ensure that adequate road access is available for turning the vehicle and for exit purposes. If the driver does feel that the access is limited then they will stop at the nearest safe point regardless of the distance from the pick-up point. It is therefore important that other family and guests cars are kept away from the bride’s pick-up points. If you have an unmade road or uneven road surface then please inform us at the time of the booking.
At collection times it is important that if the party are to be picked up from a hotel that there is a representative at reception to meet the driver.
Delays and breakdowns. The hirer will be informed of any delay arising from either a vehicle or road issue that may cause a delay beyond our control for that purpose it is important to provide a contact name and a mobile phone number. In the event of a vehicle problem an alternative car will if possible be provided and the difference in the hire refunded. Should the vehicle be more than the original cost no increase will be passed to the hirer. Whilst every effort is taken in finding the best routes for your journey there may be instances where circumstances are beyond our control. This may be the result of road works, local events, rural activities, road closures, accidents and weather which can affect the journey time. No liability can be accepted by us and the hirer accepts this at the time of making the booking. Safety is always a priority and winter weddings should always have a back-up plan in case of a sudden change in the weather conditions.
The hirer agrees that if any member of their party causes damage to the vehicle they may be liable for the repair costs to the vehicle to re-instate it to the condition it left its base on the day of the wedding. The use of confetti inside the car is prohibited and anyone taken unwell in the car also would incur a cleaning charge.
Wedding Car Highland will not be held responsible for delays or cancellations of ceremonies or receptions, missed appointments or delays, traffic congestion, poor weather conditions, incorrectly advised timings, incomplete address detail or other circumstances beyond our control.
